Together with CGPi and DigiTerra, two Hungarian companies, it was fascinating to present our joint solutions to the visitors. CGPi is engaged in development, manufactoring, trade and maintenance of electronics. DigiTerra however trades customizable GIS solutions. Our specific GPS / DGPS solutions seemed to be particularly interesting for experts who want to become their back offices more effective.
Beside the interest in GPS / DGPS we could notice that the fast data logging and data handling requirements increase more and more due to the sub contracting. Furthermore there is upcoming the RFID technology to the forestry sector.

Aquisition of storage locations: First the quality of wood is getting to be defined. The wood will then be marked with special barcode tags. These will be scanned and the position of the wood exactly identified via GPS. The complete data will be transferred online in a GIS supported warehouse system and will be available for disposition.
It was great to see that our devices afford a wide range of features which are also needed in the forestry. Features like robustness, various interfaces and the big touchpad, which is suitable for hands even in gloves.
