The t+t netcom handheld series tt8000 Premium Line provides highest quality mobile equipment. The tt8000 series complies with the IP 65 standard and is thus suitable for use under the toughest conditions. The powerful Freescale i.MX21 processor is an energy-saving device which guarantees highest processing speeds and above-average durability.
The basic model in the tt8000 Premium Line is equipped with 512 MB ROM storage, two serial interfaces and one USB interface, an MMC and an SD card slot (SDIO Standard), the VOIP option (voice over IP) as well as the proven standard features common to all t+t netcom series, such as bevelled-edge keys with safety release, a ribbed-surface housing and a backlit keypad.
The devices in the tt8000 - Communicator - series are equipped with a powerful GSM modem and can be used for GPRS data transmission and as a mobile phone. They have a built-in microphone and speakers.
The integrated standard GPS module always shows you the right direction.
It is not necessary to purchase a new unit if you wish to extend the range of mobile applications; supplementary modules are available. Scanner, Imager, RFID reader or chip card reader can all be integrated into the unit or the BackPack at any moment of time.

Upgradeability and hardware add-ons
The BackPack accepts almost any board (as long as it doesn’t exceed the housing dimensions – 70mm x 60mm x 15mm). For example, any RFID reader, GPS modules (incl. antenna) as well as magnetic or chip card readers from different manufacturers can be integrated in addition to barcode scanners.
The biggest advantage of the BackPack concept is the independence of the basic device. Using the BackPack kit the device can be extended at any time to meet subsequent upgrading requirements in mobile computing. No devices have to be replaced; the existing devices can be extended by using the BackPack. This guarantees the highest level of flexibility with low investment costs.
